The single-bud problem

A pair missing one bud is worth far less than half a pair, because replacement singles are expensive and specific to the generation. If you have a lone left or right bud, we may still take it as a parts unit — just tell us up front rather than hoping it goes unnoticed.

AirPods Max specifics

On the Max we check the headband for cracking at the pivot, the ear cushions for wear and odour, the mesh canopy, and the Smart Case. Cushions are replaceable and inexpensive, so worn pads are a small deduction rather than a dealbreaker.

Clean and unpair before you meet

Remove the AirPods from Find My so Activation Lock releases, then clean the mesh and the case contacts. A genuinely clean pair photographs and resells better, and it shows in the offer we can make.
