Battery cycles and health

In System Settings → General → About → System Report → Power you can see cycle count and condition. A Mac reporting 'Service Recommended' or a very high cycle count takes a deduction, because a genuine battery service is expensive and the next buyer will need it.

Cosmetic grading on aluminum

We check the lid and palm rest for dents, the display for pressure marks and the anti-reflective coating for delamination, the keyboard for sticky or dead keys, and the ports for damage. Light wear is normal and priced in; a bent chassis or liquid damage is a different conversation.
