Garmin holds value differently

Garmin's high-end multisport watches depreciate slowly because the running and triathlon community buys used aggressively. A Fenix or Forerunner in good shape often out-values a newer mainstream smart watch, so do not assume yours is worthless because it is a few years old.

Battery life is the deciding factor

Wearable batteries are small and non-serviceable on most models. If your watch no longer makes it through a day, say so up front — we will still buy it, we just price it as a battery-limited unit rather than pretending it is mint.

Reset and unpair

Factory reset the watch from its own settings menu, then remove it from the companion app on your phone so it is no longer tied to your account. Bring the proprietary charging puck or cable — nearly every brand uses a different one.
